1LE.org is gathering information about third and fourth generation Camaros and Firebirds with the 1LE RPO code, and the SLP SS/Firehawk from 01/02 that had the optional suspension. For current counts, please scroll to the bottom of the page. What I ask is that you share your VIN, and a photo of the SPID label. A photo of the car is also welcome. For the SLP cars, please submit a photo of the SLP label in the passenger door jamb, or other identifying documentation showing the car has the 1LE option. There is a reasonable chance we already have information on your car. If we have old photos or details, we will be willing to share those with you. The goal of this project is to unlock some of the secrets and correct misinformation that has been widely spread about these cars. This is mostly about fourthgens, as a small group of people on thirdgen.org have spent decades on the topic of thirdgens, and have documented the origins of the 1LE option, and what it really meant for the 88-92 cars. There are still a lot of unknowns and misinformation about fourthgens. |
